As said by the influential Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which can change the world.”  With the ever evolving technological advancements, the education field is witnessing drastic changes. Traditional learning or conventional learning is of the bygone era. Practical learning is gaining impetus and is more appreciated which helps people learn more easily. Here are some education trends to for in 2017:

Real World Experiences:

Having regular theoretical knowledge doesn’t benefit anyone in today’s world. More schools are recognizing the need for practical learning. Vocational courses and internships offers the students the exposure to explore the learning practically and help them advance in their knowledge.

Online Learning Resources:

Glass Ceiling of traditional classroom has been broken. Classrooms are now not limited to the brick and mortar rooms but many are switching to learning online. Opting  for online resources for learning have been beneficial to all and helps in saving time. Learning anywhere anytime is now catching up like never before.

Nontraditional Credentials:

Nontraditional credentials or rather micro credentials are now on the rise. Apart from the regular degrees, the companies are training their employees, helping them gain industry knowledge and rewarding them credentials upon completion of the course.

Students are content curators:

We are in an information overload time and in times like these, the need to understand and evaluate it has increased. The more information one is being exposed to, the more content curation skills does one need to understand its quality and relevance.

Massive online open courses (Mooc’s):

Apart from the regular online courses, there are few education sites which offer courses for free. These non profit online teaching programs help one to gain education from the top universities in the world. The scope of a regular classroom is now scaled up and the discussion forums are not limited to the regular audience but the liberty to learn from cross culture experience these moocs bring in are spectacular.

Artificial Intelligence:

Few educational institutions are now introducing artificial intelligence techniques for teaching. Virtual teaching assistants are now being programmed to connect to and teach students which might turn out to be a successful one as the time passes by.
